Being on a trapeze is like dreaming. I feel totally outside of myself when I'm flying. You know, designing shoes, my imagination is flying in my drawings.

Class Structure

Flying trapeze classes are structured so that each participant can enjoy maximum time in the air. The class will consist of three instructors, a board worker, a lines puller and a catcher. Our standard fly class runs for two hours with a limit of ten students per class and a minimum of four students per class. Unless noted, classes are all levels, allowing students to progress at their own pace and focus on an appropriate trick.

First time students are fitted with a safety belt and begin class with a brief ground school lead by one of their three instructors. After learning the basic safety rules, practicing their take-off on the ground, and seeing a demonstration of their trick – the knee hang, students will climb the ladder and soon begin flying through the air. Students are connected to safety lines from the time they step onto the first rung of the ladder and until they roll out of the net and have both feet on the ground.

Though out class, instructors will provide coaching on flying techniques. The final 30 minutes of class will be devoted to catching. If the flyer is still working on finessing their trick students will continue to practice, without attempting to catch, during the catch round.
